The Napanee & District Curling Club is now closed for the holidays and all your league directors are busy getting ready for the second draw of the season. Congratulations to the first draw winners starting with the 19 team Up&At’Em winner Phil Berry, Gail Maracle, Kees VanGent, Sharon VanGent followed closely by Sandy Eastlake, Bert Kea, Marilyn Cole, Tim Grew. The Tuesday Mixed winner was David VanVlack, Jordan VanVlack, Angela Kurc, Ed Kurc. The Wed Senior Men’s league was won by Doug Pennell, Allan Wriggleworth, Gerry Haggerty, Roger Mills with Andy Palmer, Steve Anderson, Wayne Chadwick, Tim Grew coming second. The Thursday Ladies winner was the team of Sandi McNamee, Gail Maracle, Heather Baker, Joan Reynolds with runner up Stacey Jones, Martha McCallum, Sandy Kennelly, Elizabeth Vandenberg. The Thursday night Men’s draw as won by Paul McDonald, Chris Goody, Ray Taylor, Devlin Benton followed closely by Ian Munro, Neil Packman, Don Weir, Tim Grew. The Monday Night Men’s League had winner A: Ryan Rowe, Rob Dickson, Scott Dickson, Aaron Shields with runners up Andy Palmer, Bill Hogg, Robert Hough, Gord Mitchell. B: Ian Munro, Brian Hobin, Mark Taylor, Andy Graham and runners up: Chris Coleman, Ray Taylor, Ron Menchetti, Jaan Lees; C: Darrell Scott, Guy Johnson, Bob St. John, Neil Packman with runners up: Bill Casselman, Hugh Sharpe, Bert Kea, Ken Booker.
Lots still to come in the 2018/2019 curling season starting with our annual Strategy Session/Refresher Training is being held Sunday 6th January 2019 so call Sandy if you wish to attend so she can make arrangements 613-354-7138. Also on the 6th January, if you wish just to throw rocks the club is open from 1 to 4 pm with free sheets for you to practice on. All new curlers will be taking the ‘Learn to Curl’ at the same time and have been notified.
We are again hosting the Novice League which will be held from Sunday January 20th to March 10th so watch for the ad in The Napanee Beaver and call Sandy for a spot in this fun filled league.
